Gary Kubiak

The Coach Gary Kubiak watch is officially on in Houston. Sure, the Houston Texans lost a hard fought battle to the perennially good Indianapolis Colts. The problem, however sad it is, is not that they lost; but the way that Houston is going about their special brand of losing.

Coach Gary Kubiak has instilled a system that is not player-dependent. That is a rare thing in this league. The Dallas Cowboys are dependent on Tony Romo. Kind of like a Judo Master uses the strength of his opponent against him.

Inexplicably though, Coach Gary Kubiak chose not to take the points.

Here is a brief recount of just some of those possessions and what should have happened.

With 5:20 left to go in the third quarter and the score at 24-12 Titans, Houston chose not to kick a field goal. Fourth down and 4 yards to go, the Texans completed a 1 yard pass to Steve Slaton.
